Sue Ash
Chief executive officer
Sue Ash set up Ash Communications in 1993 to provide high quality strategic communications advice and implementation to organisations as an integral part of their business development and success.
A former Guardian/NUS student journalist of the year, a Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Marketors and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), she has created and implemented successful marketing, communications and PR strategies for leading organisations in the property, business-to-business, healthcare and consumer sectors for over 15 years.
In the last six years, she has gained extensive experience in the international and UK property industry, advising and working with developers, agents and professional services companies to help them market properties and grow their businesses.
Career highlights include:
- managed the European PR campaign which made Tactel into a leading fashion and sportswear textile brand for ICI
- worked with one of the first fee-based IFA companies to launch the concept of independent financial advice
- key member of the team to launch new technical magazine
- ran the PC User exhibition at Olympia and initiated the PC User technical software challenge to drive visitor and media interest
- implemented change management programme for leading property agency
- created and established amra as the leading regional sales agency though sustained public relations campaign
- provided PR strategy and advice which led to the government's change of heart on the poor representation of dermatology in the UK's first GP prescribing system
Positions held:
- Judge for the UK’s Newspaper Society 2004 editorial awards
- 2002 and 2003 judge at the UK’s leading pharmaceutical awards - the Communiqué healthcare awards - which acknowledge best marketing practice
- Major role in the foundation of the AIPP and currently Chair of the association
- Chairwoman of the Publicity Club of London (PCL) 2003-2006, an organisation that brings together people from marketing and communications fields to discuss areas of interest and new developments in the industry
