Festival of Sound

Introducing a new music-loving audience to       hifi and audio products

Hifi shows have been in existence for years, attracting enthusiasts to different events outside London.  A major hifi retailer had a long-held desire to bring a new show to London for the first time in a decade which would attract a new music-loving audience with high disposable income as well as retain the traditional hifi enthusiast.

Ash Communications has been instrumental in branding, organising and promoting Festival of Sound at the Novotel, Hammersmith.  To appeal to more women and families as well as people with high disposable income, Ash worked with the client to introduce a wider variety of music-oriented brands, products and experiences to entertain and inspire visitors.  Among the attractions have been live musical acts including Chris Difford, Gary Langan and JJ Jeczalik from the Art of Noise, Antonio Forcione, UNKLE founder James Lavelle and Philip Sheppard, Unsung Singers and Beth Nielsen Chapman as well as ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris in a fireside chat with Chris Difford, and engineer Gary Langan spilling the beans on the recording of Queen’s iconic Bohemian Rhapsody in the studio.

From a standing start, over the past three years, the show has attracted 11,000 people - increasing 25 per cent from year one - and 95% of the exhibitors stated they wished to rebook for the show.
